Our mission is to preserve, renovate and revitalize Walton Blesch Stadium and Field for future generations.

Statement of Need

Historic and storied Walton Blesch Field was built in 1920. Thousands of Maroon football players and fans have contributed to the incredible legacy and tradition of Walton Blesch Stadium and Field.

The concrete walls and bleachers are the beloved home of the Maroons, but an imposing and intimidating destination for visiting opponents.

Unfortunately, the viable lifespan of bleachers is approximate 100 years. Recent deterioration, cracks, and crumbling have proved to be beyond repair, rendering the bleachers unsafe for use. Proactive measures must be taken before it is too late.

Our Proposal

The goal of the Walton Blesch Stadium Legacy Foundation is to replace the existing bleachers with aluminum bleachers and to replace the press box. Every effort will be made to preserve the original wall and to maintain the look and feel of the Walton Blesch Stadium.

Fundraising Goal

The foundation needs to raise approximately $750,000. The demolition and cleanup of the existing bleachers is estimated to be up to $250,000. New Bleachers and a press box have been quoted in the range of $400,000 - $600,000.
